Frequently Asked Questions

When should I apply?
Apply as soon as possible. We suggest applying at least two months before the school starts.

Am I guaranteed a spot in the school when I apply?
No, we prayerfully consider each applicant and we ask that you do the same. We will be in contact once a decision has been made.

How long should I expect to wait for a response once I have submitted my application?
Once you have paid your registration fee and filled out the form that is sent to you, you will get a response in a few days. If your application is not complete, we will contact you requesting that you submit the remaining aspects of your application. Please note that incomplete applications cannot be processed. 

What If I haven’t known my pastor for more than 12 months?
In this case, we would request that you get a Pastoral Reference form from both your current pastor and your previous church pastor, or an additional 2 character references. 

Do I need to be attending a local church to apply?
We desire that you have been attending one church for at least 6 months prior to applying to study. We understand life circumstances change or you may have moved. Reason for a shorter term at a church will be requested.  

Do I need to be baptized to attend the school?

 Can I do both the Worship and Leadership Tracks at the same time?
Due to the course load and scheduling, it is not possible to study more than one track at a time. Although some sessions may intersect. 

Will I need a computer?
It is not required, yet it will be helpful. 

I am married with kids, do you provide childcare?
TMC does not provide Childcare. We may be able to offer some resources that are known by the FA church community. 

Does TMS provide scholarships/student loans?
TMS payment plans are available upon request. Please make your request for financial aide in the notes field on the application. Whilst saying this, please do not discount God’s ability to intervene in your circumstances. We have seen God miraculously provide financially and we continue to believe for Him to provide. 

Can I get a job at TMS/FA after graduating?
At TMS we build our team through relationship (as well as skill, character, integrity and gifting).  We do not offer a job placement after the program. We desire to see you build relationships and sow into your local church. Through leading with responsibility, excellence and ownership opportunities may open up for you.  

Is there required reading before classes begin?
The syllabus given in the first class will list if there are required readings and what they are.  

What is the application fee?
$35-This is a fee collected by the school as part of the initial application process. It covers the administration costs associated with processing applications for enrollment.  

Will I get the application fee back?
No, the registration fee is a non-refundable deposit. 

What are the requirements outside of class times?
Course loads will vary. Please email for further clarification. 

Are my credits transferable?
There will be one class per semester that is offered for credit through Vanguard College.

Can I hold a job during the school?
Yes, the basic schedule is as follows and there will be minimal requirements for assignments outside of class time.
Monday Night: Tehillah Monday Gathering
Tuesday Night: Classes
Weekend: Internship in local church.

Are there breaks on holidays?
There will be breaks for statutory holidays, however, Tehillah Monday will still take place.

Can I leave on a trip during the school?
If you are a going on a trip during the school term, you will be required to obtain approval first. Additionally, you will need to notify your instructors right away if you can not attend classes. There will be no reimbursement for missed classes.

If I am relocating to Calgary for the school where can I live?
Students are responsible for their own housing. If you need assistance feel free to reach out and we can try to offer some resources to assist you.

What is the Refund Policy?

Application Fee is non-refundable.

All student fees prior to arrival: Prior to arrival: 100%

During the 1st week of classes: 95%

During the 2nd week of classes: 85%

During the 3rd week of classes: 70%

During the 4th week of classes: 60%

During the 5th week of classes: 50%

Beyond the 5th week of classes: 0%
