ABOUT TEHILLAH MONDAY

Tehillah Monday began in 1990 under the covering of First Assembly Church with a simple heart: to create a space where people could encounter God together. It was never meant to replace the local church, but to strengthen and serve it.

  • For over 30 years, people from different churches, backgrounds, and generations have gathered on Monday nights to worship, pray, and seek God’s presence. What started as a small gathering has grown into a community passionate about spiritual renewal, unity, and seeing lives transformed.

    At its core, Tehillah is a place to pause, be refreshed, and encounter hope. Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, are exploring faith for the first time, or are simply curious, you are welcome here.

    We believe God is moving in Calgary today; drawing people closer to Him and stirring a new generation to live with purpose, compassion, and faith. Tehillah exists to help create space for that: gathering people around the presence of Jesus, encouraging leaders, and supporting local churches as they impact their communities.

    Everything we do comes back to one mission: to create space for God’s presence, build up people, and see renewal spread throughout our city and beyond.

  • Ben Johnson

    LEAD PASTOR, FIRST ASSEMBLY CHURCH

    Ben and his wife, Heather, have served together in Pastoral and apostolic ministry for over twenty years.

    They share a deep spiritual burden for our nation of Canada, specifically for the unchurched and the next generation. They long to see a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our time, and they believe that some of the most exciting days for the Canadian church are ahead. Together with their kids, they consider it an incredible honour to serve Jesus and our beautiful City of Calgary.

  • Jeremiah Niengor

    Pastor, Youth & Young Adults, Tehillah Director

    Jeremiah is driven by a holy discontent for the status quo and a fierce passion to see the next generation step into their God-given calling. Alongside his wife Camille, Jeremiah is consumed with a vision to see young people not merely survive in today’s world, but to rise as leaders who carry the life-altering presence of Jesus into every corner of society. His heart aches for those who have been overlooked and silenced, and he has committed his life to amplifying their voices, championing their worth, and leading them into the transformative power of Christ that has redefined his own life. For Jeremiah, this is not just a ministry, it’s a mission, a divine mandate to see a generation awakened, empowered, and unleashed for the Kingdom of God.

  • Michael Larson

    Associate Pastor Worship and Arts

    Michael Larson is a Worship and Arts Pastor at First Assembly Church in Calgary, Alberta, where he has served since 2010 alongside his wife, Jennie, and their two children. With over thirty years of worship ministry experience, Michael is passionate about helping worship leaders, musicians, and songwriters grow in their relationship with God and serve the local church with humility, skill, and authenticity. As a teacher and mentor, he loves investing in the next generation and creating environments where people can discover their calling and develop their gifts. 

    Michael is also a songwriter and member of Tehillah Worship. His songs have been sung in churches around the world, including "Freedom Reigns," which has been recorded by several worship artists and ministries. Through Tehillah School of Worship, Michael desires to equip and encourage worshippers to lead from a place of intimacy with Jesus and a heart to serve others. 

  • Adam Meckelborg

    Pastor, Prayer and Tehillah Ministry Schools

    Adam grew up in a Christian home, but his faith became personal when he encountered Jesus at 18. Since then, he has carried a deep passion to see revival and awakening in the Church through prayer, teaching, and discipleship.

    He is passionate about equipping people for a lifetime of fruitful ministry, wherever God calls them. His favourite part of his role is the community; he deeply values the people he serves alongside and is continually encouraged by what God is doing in and through them.
